To go on a night out on my own?

Friend and I had a weekend away organised. Been looking forward to it for ages! Sadly due to a last minute family emergency my friend now can’t goSad
Hotel etc all booked and none refundable. I’m going anyway and another friend is coming up on Sunday. However original friend and I had planned to go to a club night I’d wanted to check out for ages tonight. We even booked our hotel five minutes from the venue so that we could easily walk there and back on the night.

WIBU to go by myself tonight and check it out? I’ve been looking forward to it for ages and the thought of being in a hotel round the corner alone is killing me. It’s the sort of thing I would have done with no hesitation pre DC but I seem to have lost my nerve a bit in recent years.

It’s the first time I’ve been away since my youngest was born 16 months ago. I really want to make the most of it. Will everyone thing I’m a sad Billy no mates if I rock up alone?

Go if you really want to. Nothing worse than feeling like you've missed an opportunity. If you don't like it once you've been there a while, leave. Simple really. You don't have to stay the whole night, your hotel is only around the corner so you'll be able to get back to it quickly.
I think you'll regret it more if you don't go than if you do...

Do it! I know it’s not quite the same but I’ve sometimes gone to gigs on my own and no-one bats an eyelid.

Get glammed up and go dance the night away.

I'd definitely go for a wander round, and you can easily dance near the DJ with the other hard core random individuals where I am normally located, with our without my friends

I would! You might make some new friends on the night too. People bond over the music at this kind of thing. Hope you have a good time anyway.
