I stupidly yanked my USB memory stick out of my PC yesterday (was in a hurry so didn't go through the whole 'safely remove storage device' rigmarole). Now when I plug it in, all my folders are empty.
The folder structure seems to be intact but there's nothing in them.
DP spent a few hours last night trying out various data recovery software on it, but no luck.
I see that there are professional data recovery experts I could send it to, who may be able to fix it, though it looks potentially expensive so I don't want to bother unless there is a reasonable chance of success. Does anyone have experience of using these services? Can they do anything more than we've done already - ie use readily available data recovery software?
Thanks for any advice - and please don't give me a lecture on backing up/saving to the Cloud etc. I've obviously already had a very stern word with myself and have learned a hard lesson.
