So I wear a uniform to work, came in today and the building was freezing so I put the heating on and left my coat on whilst I warmed up.
30 minutes later another employee was sent home due to the fact that she had not worn her shirt and instead put a pink T-shirt on. When she was asked to go home she said she was being singled out because nobody had asked me to take my coat off and that is not part of the uniform.
To be clear, I had my full uniform on, just hadn’t taken my coat off due to the cold. She did not have her uniform with her at all!
Did she have a point or aibu to think they are two different situations?

Unless you have a work fleece or coat to wear you can't compare the two situations.
However, the building should be warm enough for you not to have to wear your coat (even for 30 minutes).

@PennyGold it’s a warehouse type building so quite cold when you first go in until heating is switched on. I’m always the first in, hence the leaving coat on Til the heating kicked in.

These people really annoy me!

It’s not my fault brigade.

Doesn’t matter what you were wearing. She didn’t comply with the uniform policy, she was sent home.

What happens to you or your situation is irrelevant.

I wonder if she was a sad face child in the daily fail getting sent home for repeated school uniform breaches that equally weren't her fault?
