To ask about skincare stuff for young teens?

Does anyone have any recommendations for products or routines for young teens? DD 13 starting to get teen skin (a few spots, slightly bumpy, oily skin) and I don't know if it's better to just ignore and let her know it's normal and fine, or get her into 'good habits' with a particular face wash/soap and moisturiser.

She's not massively bothered either way at the moment, but I'd love to help her if she finds she needs it soon.

Thank you!

My teenagers use Pixie Glow Tonic as a toner after using any face wash made for oily/spotty skin. They swear by Pixie

Does she wear make up? If not then a face cloth soaked in very hot water may be all she needs on her face. (Changed every day).

We’ve found that mostly skin is ok enough to not need much doing to it, or so spotty and greasy that the off the shelf stuff doesn’t touch it.
No harm in a bit of face wash or acid toner, but I think it’s only going to make a little difference. Might make makeup sit better I suppose.

Skin totally refreshes itself every few weeks, so nothing is going to give a long term benefit. Except sunscreen of course.

I’d go with something for sensitive skin. IME, the harsher products make spots worse. Use either simple or if your budget can stretch, La Roche-Posay is excellent.

Elizabeth's Daughter was formulated for teen skin. Could be worth a look.

Agree harsher products make spots worse.

My 14 year old DD uses The Ordinary products (as do I). Fab stuff that’s cheap and can build a regime as simple or complex as one likes.

Carbon theory soap at boots is just fab. Only £6 and not too chemical-y. It really helped clear my skin and I’m definitely not a teen!

Dermalogica do great ranges for oily skin and also just teenage skin. It’s a bit pricey but I highly recommend it

My DD uses Amie which is specifically for teenagers and she likes it.

Great, thanks all! No makeup, just sweat and the usual. Will give some of these a look Star
