To hide all of DH's dirty boxers?

DH only showers every other day. On the mornings where he doesn't shower, he takes off his boxers, puts them on the bed, then gets dressed.

We don't have a wash basket in the bedroom (but there is often one in the hallway) and so he forgets to bring them downstairs and leaves them on the bed.

It gives me the massive ick and infuriates me. I've told him several times that if he continues to leave dirty boxers on the bed, I will kidnap them until he's left with none.

He took no notice, carried on doing it and I stuck to my word without him realising. He's now down to only a few pairs and couldn't find any clean ones this morning.

Of course, it's my fault and he thinks I've gone bonkers. But I did warn him!

AIBU??

(He did have some clean ones, I didn't leave him with manky dirty boxers all day)

Very annoying, but I would have thought the most obvious way forward would be to put a wash basket in the bedroom, even if only a small one? Where doyou put your dirty clothes when you go to bed - you don't take them all the way downstairs then do you?

You’re my idol, i should do this with mines holey pants and socks. He’s got them out of the bin before 🙄

LajesticVantrashell · 12/02/2020 19:36

Even if I put a basket in the room, chances are he'd STILL leave them on the bed.

Wash bin is in the bathroom (where he has to go to wash/brush teeth) and there's often another basket right outside the bedroom where I collect dirty things from our bedroom and DS's bedroom.

He has no respect for you and thinks it's your job to pick them up and wash them.

Put them on the dirty beggars pillow.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 12/02/2020 19:37

Yanbu. Why do you even have to ask? Why are you worried that he might not have clean pants to wear? Are you his personal slave?

richele4 · 12/02/2020 19:49

Yanbu. I should do this when he leaves them in the bathroom! You're amazing🤣

pollyputthepastaon · 12/02/2020 19:52

Just leave them in the laundry basket. Bodes he not wash them ever? Is he an adult or a child?

thistimelastweek · 12/02/2020 20:02

Puts them on the bed? Is that the nice tidy bed that you've made up? Or does he just leave them for you to fish out of the mussed up bedding?
Either way, it's hardly hard to remember. Dirty pants go straight in a wash basket.
Try chucking them out of the window. One pair in the garden for every day it takes him to figure it out.

NotPayingAttention · 12/02/2020 20:12

No you're not being unreasonable at all. I wouldn't even worry about him being left with dirty boxers. Or no boxers. Make like you've no idea where they're disappearing to. Make him go out and buy more and then do the same if he carries on leaving on the bed. Ad infinitum Grin I mean, if he was your flatmate leaving them in a living room you'd have chucked him out by now or at very least put the boxers in the fire. I would consider putting a small hamper near his side of the bed in addition to this though, in fairness.

polkadotpj · 12/02/2020 20:12

Nope. Totally reasonable. It’s the lack of respect isn’t it? Infuriating
