To just shit on the floor instead?

As my username suggests, I am blooming tired.

Just moved into a new lovely home. One dd, been with dh for 4 years now and I thought that he'd be okay with sitting at a bloody table like a normal family!!!

He insists that we sit at the sofa, Dd13 wants to eat in her room.
That is how our old home had been like and I want to sit at the table for once!!!
Is it too much to ask?? Shall we all just bloody sit on the floor to eat instead??

Sorry for the rant but I am fuming. Angry

I thought this was going to be about a bathroom hogger 😂😂😂😂😂

Tombliwho · 12/02/2020 19:07

Weird to be so fuming about it.

slipperywhensparticus · 12/02/2020 19:07

😂😂😂

Seriously I agree with you sitting at the table

aquashiv · 12/02/2020 19:08

Shit on the table. He'd be furious. Dance like a T rex.

Beamur · 12/02/2020 19:08

YABU to shit on the floor
YANBU to eat at a table
Grin

MeanwhileAtNumber98 · 12/02/2020 19:08

Not quite as funny as snapped and farted but it's up there 😂

TulipCat · 12/02/2020 19:08

You will get so much more traffic than you expected 😀. I was expecting a toiletgate thread!

CaptainMyCaptain · 12/02/2020 19:08

The title got everyone's attention though Grin.

Sobloomingtired · 12/02/2020 19:08

@BuffaloCauliflower I have asked him wtf his problem is and he just seems to prefer the sofa, it's really annoying and even upsetting to me as I just want to be a normal family ffs Angry A compromise sounds good. Sit on the table weekdays, sofa weekends? Maybe.

Shamazing · 12/02/2020 19:09

Sit at the table with your DCs and if doesn't join you then he's being a tosser.

P.S. please do not resort to shitting on your floor, it's really not worth it.

AdoptedBumpkin · 12/02/2020 19:10

Not unreasonable if you own the house Grin

sittingonacornflake · 12/02/2020 19:10

Shit on the sofa. He won't like sitting there then.

MargotsBumpyNight · 12/02/2020 19:12

Snap and shart Grin Don't let anyone tell you you can't! I believe in you OP!

NeverHadANickname · 12/02/2020 19:15

Oh that's funny, I thought you were using it as a 'if we eat anywhere I might as well shit anywhere' 🤣 I like eating at the table and think it is important as a family to eat together away from the TV and other distractions to catch up and spend time together. How long does it take reliastically?

flooooomp · 12/02/2020 19:16

You should just shit on the sofa. Bet he won't want to eat there then.

motheringmayham · 12/02/2020 19:17

This thread turned out nothing like I imagined from the caption Grin

Beamur · 12/02/2020 19:18

Shit on the sofa. He won't like sitting there then
This.
And thank you OP for making me laugh.

Strictly1972 · 12/02/2020 19:21

When I read the first line & you said you were tired, I thought you were going to say you needed the loo but were too tired to move so would it be really bad to shit on the floor 🤣 🤣

ContessaferJones · 12/02/2020 19:22

Definitely shit on the floor Grin

TheTrollFairy · 12/02/2020 19:24

Shitting on the floor might make them realise that you really do want the to eat at the table. Try it out and report back to us Grin

We sit on the sofa but my dream is to have a dining room so we sit at the table. I would make it compulsory to sit at the table (no phones/tv). It’s what, 30 mins out of your day to sit as a family

Helpinghim · 12/02/2020 19:24

He is a knob. I'd love to sit at a table to eat with my family, but we don't have a living room!

Scrump21 · 12/02/2020 19:24

Absolutely amazing!!! I thought it was going to be about the state of a toilet at home/ work haha

Bossmum94 · 12/02/2020 19:26

I voted YABU because carpet is really expensive and shitting on the floor would make your house stink.

CheshireDing · 12/02/2020 19:27

This is making me laugh too much and I am trying to get DC3 to sleep (without waking him with big belly laughs)

YANBU to want to eat at the table, he should set an example to your DD. What’s the point of living in the same house if nobody speaks and just goes to their respective rooms to eat.

You might as well shit on the floor 🤷‍♀️

LoonyLunaLoo · 12/02/2020 19:28

I read through the whole post wondering how you were going to get to shitting on the floor 😂

We moved from a similar house where we didn’t have room for a dining table to a lovely big kitchen diner. DH was on board at first but slowly started to want to eat on the sofa more often, saying, “You don’t mind if I eat in the living room do you?” Whilst picking up his plate and leaving. I don’t mind when he gets home from work late and DS is in bed but we’re supposed to be a family and it doesn’t send a good message to DS when me and him are sat at the table and DH is in the living room, especially when our working hours mean that me and DS are alone together a lot. My rule is if I’ve gone to the trouble to cook it, the least he can do is bloody well sit at the table to eat it!
