To think the sales tactics from phone salespeople are a bit sneaky?

Just got off the phone with some Vodafone salesman they're fairly annoying but this time I was interested as it was an early upgrade. I mentioned a few I didn't want to pay as much as I'm currently paying and even said my budget was £20 at least twice. He offered a deal too good to be true. (although I've had them in the last with EE) and asked to give me some time while I googld the specs. When repeatedly asking how much it was, he just kept avoiding to answer, well it turns out it was £36. I said no thanks, I said my budget was £20 and proceeded to lecture me how it was impossible to get a new phone for that price. In the end I had to hang up on him. I know it's his job, but avoiding to tell me the price seemed a bit extreme imo.

Sales tactics are fascinating.

They rely on your 'not thinking' system and frame their questions and words to influence you.

Even the way they word the numbers can influence you.
