Just opened my returned old passport( got my new one too- no EU anymore) and this was attached... my name does begin with an M...but I wasn't born overseas.
Do the passport application staff normally put little notes on passport?

Er, what? That's her old passport that has been sent back to her after the issue of the new one. Of course she can't travel on it - it's invalid, both in date and with the standard physical mutilation and the passport by HMPO cutting off the corner. She travels on the new one, obviously.

We renewed my daughter's passport back in September last year and the new one didn't have the EU wording in it back then, even though we were still members.

Most likely it's just a random note from something else and the doodle was inspired by the slightly bizarre phrase "overseas", which it is when you think about it. "Across-seas" would make more sense.

I can see what agathavanhelsing is getting at though. It could be interpreted as the doodle meaning "they should get back on the boat".

It's strange I wouldn't like it. But I have a very overactive imagination and would think it was some kind of "message" I had to interpret....
