I keep missing workmen - I am expecting several as I've just moved house.
I've got an extra loud doorbell fitted so I can hear people at the door clearly, it's very obviously a doorbell but they all persit in just fucking knocking - not evem loudly and then going away because I can't here it and don't answer the door. Postman also does not use it just knocks softly once and goes away.
I'm bloody raging - that is the third one this week.
I asked the plumber why he didn't ring the doorbell loudly or ring me on my mobile and he just shrugged.
What the hell is wrong with all these cretins.
I've taken a week off work to deal with all these people, am I supposed to actually sit behind the front door waiting for their one soft knock, for fucks sake.

Very off behaviour on their part why bother coming all the way to a house and not making sure they're not in? Are you sure the doorbell is visible enough?

CareBear50 · 11/02/2020 19:12

Put a note onb door asking them to ring door bell numerous times

Your choice of insult tends to be considered offensive on MN as it refers to a specific medical condition.

As I was saying, before I rudely interrupted myself

I'm hard of hearing, I wear hearing aids but they don't make my hearing good, just better.

We have special bell rings that also flash, so I see them as well as perhaps hearing them.

I will not put a note on the door saying ring, because if you dont, I may not hear you. To me that's like saying, please Robb me, cos I won't hear you doing it.

We have (I hope) solved the problem by putting the push button right in the middle of the part of the door that has to be knocked on. So it's easier to ring than to knock
