To feel worried about traveling to Brighton/Hove?

I have a 4 month baby and have plans to visit friends in Brighton today. As there has been recent news re. cases of Coronavirus there, I'm a bit uneasy about going... I know the risks are small, but there's still a risk...

I'm more worried for my baby than for me as his immune system is still so young..

As someone who lives in Brighton & Hove, YABU. Honestly, life is carrying on as normal! I get why you are worried but the risks are really tiny at the moment

Don’t know what the wind is like in that direction, but I’d be more worried about the weather

Waxonwaxoff0 · 11/02/2020 07:42

Of course YABU.

I never get these posts. People live and work in Brighton, they can't lock themselves in the house all day. It will be fine.

its very windy. nearly lost my car door ((misses point of thread))

I wouldn't go. Mainly the weather (fear of trees falling) but also the virus. You can go another time.

It doesn’t matter how many people think you are being ridiculous, do what makes you comfortable.
I have a friend who won’t go to London because of her perception of it as violent. She IBU, but what’s the point of her going if she’s scared and miserable? Same for you.

I’m in brighton, nothing has changed here. Other than schools are making kids wash their hands more. Unless your friend has been in contact with the GPS surgery that’s closed you’ll be fine.
But your call...

lamppost1 · 11/02/2020 21:58

Thanks everyone! I'm not usually paranoid about these things, I also work in London which I'm sure poses more of a risk!
I know B&H isn't in lock down, I guess it's just the unknown.. what if a couple of people turns into hundreds over the course of the next few days and suddenly it does become more of a risk than we all first expected?!

I never worried about things like this before becoming a mum!

In the end my friend had to cancel because her baby is unwell (unrelated I'm sure!)
