To send toddler to nursery tomorrow

He’s been off with a cold for two weeks now, initially his temp was up and down but he hasn’t had a fever for days. His sleeping has returned to normal(ish) at night in that he’s waking up once or twice instead of every half hour. (He wakes up most nights even when he’s 100%). He’s eating and drinking enough although his appetite isn’t 100% what it normally is. He does still have a runny nose/cough and seems lethargic but I don’t know if the last bit is partly because he’s pretty much had two weeks just being at home?

I would send him, they’ll soon ring you if he’s not coping. I might give him Calpol in the morning too.

He’s still lethargic, runny nose and cough. Keep him off it’s not fair on the other kids or those looking after him.

Send him in. If you keep him off every time he has a cold / runny nose he’d never go into nursery

long as he has no temp for 48 hours + and isnt sick/has the shits etc - send him in

everyone has colds in nursery! if you kept them off for every cold they would never go in

he might be better in nursery, with mates and take his mind off things

If he can manage without calpol then he will be fine. If you know he will crash when the calpol wears off then he isn't well enough. Nursery staff can't sit and cuddle a poorly child all day as much as they would like to and most nurseries don't routinely dish out medicine apart from prescriptions. A runny nose and cough is no problem as long as they are happy to play and get on pretty much as normal.

Send him in but ask them to call if he’s unwell and not coping x

FREEM · 10/02/2020 20:18

send him. He might need normality to start feeling better.
I know that sounds mad but !

Phifedean123 · 10/02/2020 20:24

I'd send him as long as he hasn't had d&v or fever for the last 48 hours. They'll call if he is really not well. My toddler only started nursery the start of January and is off with his 3rd bug already 😭
