Have autistic people or your autistic DC had any problems with Maths?

My DC (12) is getting quite frustrated at the moment and I'm trying to get to the bottom of it.Not sure if it's linked to his autism or not.

@Smashstore sorry no I didn't mean anything by that, just that these things happen on this board. No worries.

@StatisticallyChallenged - yes, that makes sense and he definitely thinks like that (as do I).

Does he get any support from a tutor if he's home educated? As good as online programmes are, they generally only show one method for things.

I have seen students struggle with Worded questions and the "ambiguity". Particularly students with autism who pick up on the tiniest detail and question that! (not a criticism, just what students with autism do).

My autistic DS is amazing at maths - unfortunately he won't show his working "I got the answer right so why does it matter?" Grin. Loses marks due to that.

His friend who is also autistic hates maths and is terrible at it.

Same as anyone really!
