AIBU to want a wardrobe with a lock

Does anyone know where I can buy a wardrobe with a lock? I've been on google for two hours and the closest I can find is a metal officey type cupboard or changing room type lockers, so I really need some help from my fellow MNers please Grin

I've had some near misses with DC going into wardrobes that contain the fun for the bedroom stuff and I really want a better solution than frantically scrambling to get them away from there or having to lock the room entirely or even worse fielding some awkward questions Blush.

I'm after a double or ideally triple wardrobe with a clothes hanger and some shelves, budget 2-300. Self assembly is not an issue.

Surely I can't b the only person who ever wanted to buy one, please help before I cave in and buy a metal office monstrosity

I'm not sure of your style but I have an antique wardrobe and chest of drawers with locks.

Finding one with the key may be difficult though.

We brought a second hand wooden wardrobe on gumtree that had a lock and key x

I literally just googled 'wardrobe with door locks' and lots of results came up, how on earth have you been searching for two hours and not found what you need?

Can't you just buy a lock box for your sex toys and keep that in the wardrobe?

I was thinking that, a lock box or a safe or something. Doesn't look particularly conspicuous either because it's perfectly normally to lock valuable items away. Any burglars might get a bit of a surprise though WinkGrin

Charity shop bout 60 quid round out way

Get a safe and stand it in the bottom of the wardrobe.
Depends how much kit you have though.

We put magnetic locks on that we installed ourselves on lots of doors as my dc have sen and cant be trusted. To the point even their bedroom cupboards and doors had locks to stop them destroying items or making huge mess

Waveysnail · 09/02/2020 21:33

Also we brought a bed that lifts up with storage underneath. DC cant lift

Tool box ?

Thanks for the suggestions folks, looking for something on gumtree/second hand might be more fruitful.

Yeah kind of need a wardrobe as I'd like to have keep the two wardrobes separate IYSWIM and theres a decent amount of fun things to store Shock.

@PolPotNoodle I literally just googled it as well, yes there are lots of results, the uncanny thing being that none of the results have locks apart from an unavailable amazon one and office type storage. There are locks for wardrobes, but have you ever tried drilling and fixing into the MDF nonense they make wardrobes out of these days, the door would end up like a box of weetabix that have been used as a football Grin
