My dd starts her mocks tomorrow. She's 15. She's into rap, but into pot and everything really.

Do you know of an inspirational song that I might send her?

I can only think of The Eye of the Tiger or You're Simply The Best but I realise I'm a few decades out of date being her mother!

I just want to try to say best of luck - no pressure in a language she'll understand - musically and lyrically?

We used to sing Gold by Spandau Ballet before exams Grin

Off to youtube for that now. Blooming hell it's really windy out and there's scaffolding right outside my windows. Looks sturdy enough!

“Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys. It’s my own anthem (40+ year old “girl”!!), but you can borrow it.

And wishing her good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I went old school and sent her this

Naytocheese I've just watched that.
How endearingly naive is it.
Unfortunately, a good education IS the key to escaping poverty and gaining meaningful employment these days and kids have to have good grades in english and maths just to get through the door for most things.

Queen is one of the music set pieces, so she may be hating them by the exams.

NothingWrong · 09/02/2020 10:34

She's doing the Junior Cert in Ireland - is that what Queen is on?
