To stay in all day to avoid the storm?

It seems like a waste of a day but I don't like the sound of these winds and am worried about trees coming down.

We have a 1 year old who only ever naps when taken out in the pram (I've never succeeded in getting him to sleep by jiggling the pram back and forth - he has to be taken around the block at least). Any ideas/tips on getting him to sleep without going out greatly appreciated!

Not lived in our house long, and structural weaknesses abound today with these winds. Rain leaking in through our conservatory roof, and managing somehow to get in via a closed upstairs bedroom window. So we will be staying in changing buckets and towels today.

On a train which is taking 5 hours instead of 2 but grateful to be getting home at all. I just go back and forth in the kitchen with the pram.

I popped out to an early yoga class this morning, but now under a blanket on the sofa with DH & DC watching a film and this is where we will stay for most of the day :) Good luck to everyone who has to travel today!

We're going to have a really cosy day and won't be leaving the house! DH and I had originally planned to go to Morrisons to do our weekly shop but have sacked that off and are going to get a takeaway later instead. Will spend the day reading, watching TV and movies and playing our Nintendo switch. Grin

Sounds lovely MissScarlett. I love cosy days in, a warm house while the wind whips viciously around outside.

I've taken the dog a quick walk around the block. The path we take alongside the park is under water and the football pitch is submerged as well in fact the standing water on the park is probably the equivalent of two football pitches. We didn't go far as I'm wary of thing being blown from roofs and trees but at least I managed to time it in between the rain anyway.

I tried to get DS to nap in the middle of the day for over an hour but no luck as he really only falls asleep during the day if he's out and about in the pram.

He was a bit tired and grumpy in the early afternoon but then settled down to his usual behaviour.

And I've just got him to bed (he's so much easier to get to sleep in the evenings!) and we're all in one piece so I'm glad we stayed in Smile
