Is this normal?

Hello everyone

I've had a rough time over the past 6 months and I don't trust my judgement any more. I am already really ashamed to have got myself where I am and I would really like some perspective.

I work in a male dominated sector. There are 4 of us at the same higher management level and all report to the CEO. We are more or less on the same salary. CEO works remotely. No one is friends here, but we are civil to each other.

Two of the other managers have told me that the CEO has asked them about their opinion of me at work. When one of the managers told me, I was slightly taken aback. I report directly to CEO and they have no understanding of what I do as I am in a technical role. He then added not to worry as it's normal given that CEO works remotely.

CEO never asked me about my opinion of the other managers. Why is he asking them about me?

If he has no understanding of your role, then why is he not approaching you to discuss it, as surely you are the best person to answer his questions?

I do not think you are being unreasonable.
