To get an emergency doctors appointment?

3 year old DS has been trying to poo all morning. Finally managed to go but there was blood all over it and his bum is sore.

I would like him seen today really so he can be checked over and be given something to help. However I will feel guilty in the waiting room with a seemingly well child!

Don't be silly, take him to the doctors. I wouldn't be surprised if they send you to A&E. "Blood all over it" suggests a lot of blood and not just a streak or two from tissue damage from constipation. What color was the blood? I think you should call 111 to see if you should go straight to A&E.

I’ve got an appointment at the GP in 10 minutes. I think it’s damage from constipation as although it was very blood streaked, it wasn’t dripping from his bottom.

Hopefully it's nothing, but I think you are right to go to a doctor.
