Not to send DS to school tomorrow?

I am 41 weeks pregnant. Being induced Wednesday.

DS is 6. He has a weakened immune system due to a genetic condition so will basically catch anything going. Had an email from his school today to say that D&V is going round (small school, only 2 classes) and please keep your children off if sick.

Basically, I don't want to have to deal with a newborn and a vomiting 6 year old all at the same time. DH has taken a couple of weeks off work so he is at home to care for DS in case I go into labour. I really don't want to send him in because I know he'll catch it. AIBU to phone him in sick?

Nope. Do what's best for you and good luck Flowers

Nope. I'd do it like a shot.

Do it!! I may get criticised for this but...you have a lot of changes coming up, a duvet day for the 3 of you watching films and eating popcorn would be great. Also, I can’t think of anything worse than a newborn and another child with d&v Confused

God, no! Not unreasonable at all I'd feel the same....he's 6... if he was in the middle of his GCSE's then maybe! Don't give it a second thought....like you say, the last thing you need with a newborn.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 03/02/2020 21:51

Do it. You do not want a vomit3big in the house with a newborn.

Supertrooper98 · 03/02/2020 22:07

You'll have to keep him off more than just tomorrow though...

sandybanana · 03/02/2020 22:10

Do it. I just wish wish wish people would follow the 48 rule, except they don't. Cos they don't give a shiny shite.

Don't even worry about it and good luck !

You SO don't need that right now! What's he gonna miss at 6? Keep him off all week & enjoy your 1st few days as a family of 4. Just tell the school he has a temperature & you think something is brewing!

Keep him off and have a special at home day with him before the baby comes. Lots of snuggles and talking to him and doing his favourite things and just spoiling him a bit.
