How do you distinguish inability to do the job and unrealistic targets

Just that. Really struggling in my job. I’m keeping a running log of what I do in the day.

What’s the best way to ‘know’ the difference and argue this with my boss?

Unrealistic targets would be unachievable/ hard to achieve for others too..Are there any other people or another team with similar targets you could ask to see how you compare to them? Do you have anyone you trust you could speak to to gauge how they are getting on? X
