Major house clearance going on next door. Most things are just getting flung in the skip (in the torrential rain so ruined almost instantly).
Anyway I managed to stop them flinging away a grandmother (?) clock today. I'm delighted as I've always wanted one. HOWEVER, I don't have the foggiest idea how to work it. A look on the internet exploded my brain 🤯
Things I know:
It doesn't have a big long door in the front and doesn't have a pendulum.
I has metal bars inside the back if the face which little hammers strike - this is the chime.
There is a key with Perivale engraved on it and a little crank.
There do not seem to be any further identifying marks on the clock.
Does anyone know how to work it? Ideally I'd like it to not chime at night.
