Licensed waste carriers

I don't think I've posted this in the right place but not sure where to post!

Had some bits done in the house / garden and now have a bit of rubbish that needs disposing of. Closest tip (in our Local Authority) is a 40 minute drive, and it would be a few trips so thought I'd enquire with Waste Disposal companies advertised on the local Facebook page.

Had several quotes back, of varying prices. Cheapest is a very good price... too good maybe! I see lots of posts by the company / owner advertising on the Facebook page, as well as lots of people recommending them.

I know to do the usual checks etc to ensure they have an appropriate waste carriers license. I asked and they sent a picture of their license card with the registration number. Checked online and the license type is correct and in date (valid to Sept 2021). However... it gives their company number and links to Companies House... which states the company (a PLC) was dissolved in 2018.

Do I use them? Are they actually still legally operating?

Contact the local authority and ask them to check the company to see if they are able to operate.

If the company fly tip your rubbish they you are still responsible and it can carry hefty fines.

If not use check a trade and pay a little more bit guarantee you are using an authentic trading company.
