To want a comfy sofa bed that I can sleep on every night?

I sleep in the lounge and 2 children upstairs.
I currently sleep on the sofa but I am struggling with this.
Would really like a new sofa but dont want to buy one that I ruin by sleeping on it.
Should I buy a sofa and then a separate one seater sofa bed - can you recommend one?
Or buy a new sofa and raise it to slide a small single mattress underneath that I then just pull out.
Lounge is small.
Any ideas I would be really grateful.

We had a John Lewis small double sofa bed that I slept on for three years solid (DH was very ill and we didn't have a spare room at the time). It was very comfy and put away so easily, with the bedding still on. What you need is one described as an "every day" mattress.

How about a day bed? I had one in a small flat.
Something like this with an under bed?

This sofa from Ikea is great as a sofa bed. You can buy a mattress topper to use so that is covers the join. Topper and bedding can be stored in the chaise lounge section.
