AIBU to hate this brow

What is it with the current eyebrow trend?

Rubbing soap into them and brushing them upwards. Or paying a brow tech to essentially perm them so they all point upwards. It looks ridiculous In my opinion and every time I see it, I want to brush them as they would be naturally Grin

I’m not a fan of huge dark brows like slugs anyway as think it looks really silly on most people. But this new trend is really not good. Where on earth did it come from and why is everyone copying?

Photo or it didn’t happen. Grin

It's just a trend, I think people should do that they want. When I was a teen the trend was to pluck so much eyebrows were a thin line, barely there.

Pickledbrain1 · 02/02/2020 09:03

Google “soap brow” or “brow lamination”

I think thats what dd had done yesterday. She called it fluffy brow. She absolutely loves it but they look like moth antennae.

Pickledbrain1 · 02/02/2020 09:07

Haha the moth antennae comment made me laugh! Grin

The soap thing has been around ages. The parking of them is to just achieve this look for a longer period.

It's all a bit, meh. It's a current trend. Like the scouse brow and will be gone again soon.

I think they look great on those with the face structure/features to carry it off. Much better than dark, dyed microbladed brows which can look very ‘intense’. All with all fashion, different styles suit different people. I think brow laminating sounds amazing - thanks for introducing me to the term.

Disfordarkchocolate · 02/02/2020 09:13

I wish I had enough brow to laminate.

CSIblonde · 02/02/2020 09:20

It's because big eye brows tend to be seen as more youthful, as teens didn't used to bother plucking a few years back & as models got younger, modelling trends went for 'natural' rather than very made up . Also a thin, pencil thin brow isn't flattering, whereas thicker brows define your face more. Watch 'makeover guy' on You Tube. He always does 45+ women & always does their eyebrows better (not huge). It takes years off, with a decent hairstyle.

Totes agree op.

I disagree about thick dark brows not suiting anyone. Mine are black naturally and thick, I'd look pretty daft with thin pale brows.

Haven't heard of laminated, and I don't understand the need to change anything about your brows. People have been given what suits them, so I can't understand how you could improve upon it.

SouthWestmom · 02/02/2020 09:30

I like it. Middle age has stolen my brows.

I don't get it either. It looks like everyone has angry eyebrows with their hackles raised.

TheFaerieQueene · 02/02/2020 09:52

Maybe they are all Star Trek fans who are emulating the Romulan look! 🤣

I like it tbh. Wouldn't have it done myself as I'm too old, but I think it looks great on the young'uns.

corduroyal · 02/02/2020 10:25

We, that's the brow equivalent of a slaphead! Reminds me of Norman Lamont Shock
