Fake tan....

It’s winter and I’m ghostly white. I see so many people looking lovely and tanned even throughout the cold season and it makes me wonder, surely they haven’t all come back from winter holidays Hmm

I’m wondering how many people fake tan regularly all through the year? If so, I need your tips please! What products do you use, how on earth do you find the time and how do you make it look natural and non streaky?!

I use palmers cocoa butter with a tint. It’s fabulous! Doesn’t smell vile and goes on really smoothly with no streaks. Builds up each home u use it, I put it on just as I would a moisturiser after a bath or shower.

Think I’ve tried most fake tans out there, this one is by far my favourite mostly thanks to the smell. Just smells like normal cocoa butter and not that disgusting biscuity feety curry smell

I use a couple of drops of this with my facial oil once a week to take the edge off -

I got it on an Easyjet flight for about £28 or £25 if you're flying soon!

I also have this - www.superdrug.com/Skin/Fake-Tan-%26-Bronzing/Self-Tanning/Tanologist-Self-Tan-Drops-Light-30ml/p/764295

Bit cheaper for doing your body than the £££ Tan Luxe drops!

They still have fake tan whiff after a few hours - I don't think any brand avoids that, but if you put it on before bed you'll sleep through it at least!

The skinny tan 'tan and tone oil' is really good for tanning newbies - so easy to apply streak free and doesn't smell as bad as other tans. Also doesn't feel sticky and develops slowly so you don't need to wash it off. Can be pricey but skinny tan do regular offers on their website. You can also get it in boots.

If you want a proper sleep in/wash off fake tan, I've tried a few and always go back to the cheapo st moriz mousse! You can get it in wilko for around £3. Use a velvet mitt rather than a foam one (st tropez do a good one, it's blue I got mine in boots)

In terms of tips, I tan my whole body with a mitt but leave my hands, feet and face. Then I use a dense makeup brush to apply a tiny bit of tan to my hands/feet/face and blend it into the rest of the tan, ends up looking so much better (I've had my fair share of orange patchy hands lol)
