Cancer Stigma?

Saw on the news that there is a stigma amongst Asian and black communities re having cancer (a Pakistani woman has started a BAME cancer sufferers group for support). I had no idea this was the case - is anyone else aware of this, and know more about why this is the case? I’m intrigued.

Thinking you got it from evil eye or because of some voodoo black magic spell or as a test to your faith or because you are a bad person
Thinking that you need prayer and donations rather than medicine.
Denial and not talking about it. Not even uttering the c word because talking about it you might catch it.

Well can be surprised when many still don’t believe in the education of women and yet they mentally lead with superstition and absolute brief in god?

A lot of these communities see illness as a punishment for wrongdoing. So if someone gets cancer, they must be a bad person.
