KH accepted a fake award and looks very silly! This made me laugh a lot. Enjoy. Or don't. If you are a fan of KH then I guess IABU. I don't really care though!

KH is sickening true, but humiliation is a form of bullying, so I don't agree with this

FoamingAtTheUterus · 31/01/2020 01:26

Sagradada, whether it's edited or not those words still left her mouth. The words 'Muslims rape their mothers' still left her mouth.

The guys who set her up should be praised for revealing even further exactly what she is.

Retroflex · 31/01/2020 01:39

@Whatsername177 thank you so much for sharing this! I literally laughed watching it, until the usual vile comments came out of her mouth! The world would be a better place without her in it on my opinion!

JingsMahBucket · 31/01/2020 01:47

@UrbanJellyfish
Age has not been kind to her.

That’s the evil, hate, and racism aging her so badly.

Oulu · 31/01/2020 01:48

yellowallpaper, Hopkins spends her life bullying people. It's generally accepted that one of the best ways to deal with bullies is to give them a taste of their own medicine. So I can't get too worked up about the Hopkins-as-victim scenario.

What I do find rather gratifying is that her usual response to this would be to get straight on to Twitter. She must be so frustrated that she can't.

JingsMahBucket · 31/01/2020 01:49

@Oulu oh is she banned?

Osra · 31/01/2020 03:55

she wouldn't slag off people with epilepsy after her awful experiences and I have met her in this context”
She would say literally anything if it got her publicity/attention.

hibiscuswater · 31/01/2020 05:31

I know someone who was friends with her years ago and this was not her stance back then

Wait, Katie Hopkins has friends ? ConfusedWink

moita · 31/01/2020 06:28

She uses the word retard - edited or not, I have no sympathy for her.

redcarbluecar · 31/01/2020 06:42

Assuming this is real, she deserves all she gets (and worse than this). At a time when someone with a public voice could use it to try and make positive change, she makes money out of being divisive and nasty, encouraging people to hate and laugh at vulnerable groups. There is nothing honest, relevant or important about her voice- that whole ‘telling it like it is’ thing is a smokescreen; a way of making her critics feel that they must be anti free speech. Other than that I really like her. I’m glad she’s won a nice award.

LaurieMarlow · 31/01/2020 06:54

This is great. I’m also delighted that she lost her house when she lost to Jack Munroe in court and she’s banned from Twitter.

Happy days Grin

SunshineCake · 31/01/2020 07:04

I've never liked her since she was a birch to my year seven daughter.

Wellhellooothere · 31/01/2020 07:11

She been chucked off Twitter too, under investigation, not having a good week...

Whatsername177 · 31/01/2020 07:14

I agree that it is a shame her comments are edited. I'd like to hear the speech in full. I'm sure, going by her usual bile, it would be more of what we are used to. However, the editing does allow the argument that the meaning was changed by editing which is disappointing.

Doesn’t surprise me. I remember I actually really liked her when she was on the apprentice! Blush. I don’t think she’s a stupid woman. She knows there are a lot of people who hold those views and has realised it’s a very easy way to make a living for herself. She’s a total narcissist too so loves the attention.

EmeraldShamrock · 31/01/2020 07:36

I believe she knew it was a setup. The youtuber is a prankster, I'm positive anyone would google him before the trip.
Is she really banned from Twitter?
I'd like to see the real video.

Inherdefence · 31/01/2020 07:40

@EmeraldShamrock

KH doesn’t say what she believes. She says whatever offensive and outrageous thing will get her attention and retweets and generate revenue for whatever platform she is using. It could be the polar opposite of what she believes or knows to be true but that’s irrelevant. What’s important to her is publicity because that generates income. The group who successfully lobbied for her to be removed from Twitter described her as a ‘hate actor’ and that seems accurate.

She isn’t the only person to use this tactic. ‘Shock jocks’ in America have been doing it for decades. The problem with it is to keep getting the attention she and they have to keep escalating the offensiveness of their output to the point where it becomes out of control, they lose touch with the reality of their intended audience and they then lose credibility, revenue and their platform. In KH’s case she’s also (deservedly) lost her job and her home.

I feel sorry for her children on so many levels.

redcarbluecar · 31/01/2020 07:41

@Emerald, I also wondered that. It would take a high level of narcissism to believe, without a few checks, that this was a genuine award! Then again....

JeansNTees · 31/01/2020 07:43

I've known two people who have had personality changes after severe epileptic fits and she's had absolutely the most severe fits and brain surgery. It is very possible that she has changed.

WarmSausageTea · 31/01/2020 07:48

I’m not trying to be the thread police, but doesn’t discussing her just give her the oxygen of publicity which seems to be her sole motivation?

I loathe the woman, and I think she represents the worst in all of us, but I really believe the best way to deal with her is grey rock.

c75kp0r · 31/01/2020 07:51

Agree wit OPs that bullying and humiliating people is not going to make the world a better place.
Also I hadn't thought about the woman for months or years have now been reminded of her existence. If there is no such thing as bad publicity: ignoring her would be a more effective way of takin the wind out of her sails.

redcarbluecar · 31/01/2020 07:54

@Sausage, I agree, and don’t normally join in anything to do with her, but perhaps she’s worth discussion/argument because some people (in general, not just on here) think she stands for something positive.

MintyMabel · 31/01/2020 08:23

The words 'Muslims rape their mothers' still left her mouth.

It could have been snipped from “I can’t believe people say that Muslims......”

I doubt it in her case, but it is possible for that sentence to have context.

WarmSausageTea · 31/01/2020 08:36

@redcarbluecar, yes, and I suppose there is a danger in not discussing such things (and condemning them where appropriate).

I also agree with @mintymabel that the quote could have been taken from a longer one - and I also doubt it was the case.

Anyway, I’ve given her enough headspace for one day now.

KidLorneRoll · 31/01/2020 08:40

"she wouldn't slag off people with epilepsy after her awful experiences and I have met her in this context”

She slagged off people who give their children names based on places.

What's her daughters name again?
