AIBU to think this is more than a sickness bug?

My 5yDS has a 24 hour sickness bug 12 days ago was sick a couple of times, fever etc slept it off and fine the next day.

He was then fine for the next week but on Sunday out of nowhere suddenly vomited. We put it down to carsickness and he ate his lunch fine. Six hours later he started to be sick every 40 minutes for the whole night and next morning. Kept him off school Monday with a fever and Tuesday he stayed off but was fine. He went back yesterday and today. He’s been his usual bouncy energetic self again.

Came in today and was sick again at 4pm. Seems fine now and ate straight away after.

Is it possible it’s all one sickness bug or has he had more than one? In between these episodes he is absolutely fine.

My mind is jumping to awful conclusions as it’s so unlike him to be sick and me and DH and Six month old baby DD Have all been fine.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow but just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences with bugs?

He also doesn’t have a massive appetite and he’s always been slim. So I’m worried all the episodes of sickness will affect his weight.

Sorry to hear he's been so unwell. You should definitely go to the GP. My 2 had something similar - sickness... seemed to be better... then more sickness etc. In our case it was a Strep A infection which wasn't diagnosed. They were both really poorly. Go to GP and don't be fobbed off.

Thank you for replying. I feel like I’m going to be written off as a paranoid mum but he’s just not a sicky kid in general! There’s so many bugs going round at the moment it’s hard to know if it is one or not. It’s just so depressing thinking he’s recovered and then him having another episode. I’m glad you got an answer in the end!
