We spend £400 on our weekly shop, granted we have a family of seven, shop at Ocado and try to stick to organic fruit/veg/meat but still it seems ridiculous!

How many people in your family, where do you shop and how much do you spend?!

Oh, also we are vegan so milk etc is more expensive but no spend on meat and limited meat alternatives. Neither BF or I drink alcohol.

Lipper- I never shop at Aldi, but am interested in the lamb chops- it's something I rarely buy as when I look at them they are so expensive usually pick an alternative instead. How many do you get for 4.79? Are they British? Do they look nice?

The cheapest Ocado have is 4 for £4.00- which I would have to buy two packs of to feed 3 people as I would serve at least 2 each as a main meal as they are quite small. I won't buy them however because they are from Zealand. Ocado's British Lamb which is organic and grass fed is £11 for 500g which I think is 4 chops.

@FreakStar they are 100% Irish meat, all meat in Irish ALDI is Irish meat, so the price was for 4 of them, but they are quite chunky! Now my DS doesn’t like lamb so I’ll give him something else (sausage probably as I have some in the freezer) So it’s one for me, one for DD6 and 2 for my dh. And I know that doesn’t sound much it does between veggies and potatos I’m stuffed!!

Just did my shop in Lidl for two weeks, £83. Including pet food and loo rolls.

@JosefKeller attached is the packed lunch that I can provide for my children based on my shopping, the only thing left to add is some sliced chicken breast which I am waiting for to finish poaching. Personally I think they couldn’t get much better!! Grin

They do look like good lunches Lipper.

I'm guessing your children are young though as that's the sort of lunches I used to give to mine when they were six and under, easy to eat, healthy finger foods. Teens have more sophisticated tastes!

Oh and Olivers on my final receipt, it shows the money taken off for the Waitrose mag.

And Barbara, I know I spend a lot on food, it's not a mystery to me. I was just saying it's quite easy if you're not particularly mindful, which seems confuse OP.

But doesn't confuse me!

@ILikeyourHairyHands thanks yes they are 6(nearly 7) and 4... they eat anything and everything really (except sandwiches)
No such thing as school dinners over here either so this is their only option at the moment 🤣
