We are supposed to be flying to Germany tomorrow for a huge international show. Lots of Chinese exhibitors.
My husband is immune suppressed following transplant.
Coronavirus has me spooked and I think we should cut our losses and cancel even though it’s all non refundable and £1k down the drain. DH thinks I’m being OTT and is willing to consider not going to the show but taking a short break there instead. I’m still uncomfortable about the large amount of people from potentially affected areas staying at our hotel/in the city.

What does his doctor and the travel insurance say?

It’s an old transplant, years ago,very stable and healthy. If it was new we wouldn’t be getting on a bus let alone a plane.
It’s the low level of immune suppressed you always are after a transplant and he’s generally well most if the time.
We contacted hospital who were super vague and said they weren’t telling people to change travel plans based on corona, just usual hygiene measures, but if it’s really worrying you then to not go.
I’m erring towards holidaying but not attending the show. DH thinks there won’t be many Chinese people where we are as our hotel is city centre rather than right near the show venue.

The chances of catching corona are surely extremely low. Airlines are scanning people traveling from China.

Did you end up going on the trip doubleyou?

We did, everything was totally fine, had a lovely time. Very very small risks and he took sensible precautions. Thank you for asking :)
