To ask for help with colour run!

Posting here for traffic.

My DH bought a really brightly coloured shirt when we were away on holiday, quite expensive (around $200 from memory).

I washed it for the first time the other day - stupidly put it in with some dark jeans and of course the colour has run.

We've tried Dylon Colour Run sachets twice but it's still got a murky blueish tinge on the previously bright yellow sections of the shirt.

Does anyone know of anything I can do to fix this? He's in a right mood about it and the shirt is no longer on sale anywhere Sad

Could you dye it in the colour it was before?

MaMaMaMySharona · 30/01/2020 09:52

Unfortunately it's not just one colour - it's this shirt

Vanish? Steep in Bicarb and soap?

oohnicevase · 30/01/2020 09:54

Soak it in vanish and re wash again with a load of vanish .. whats it made of?

Greyhound22 · 30/01/2020 09:56

I think it's the best thing that could happen to it 😬

Sorry that's not helpful. Have you tried soaking it in violets?

MaMaMaMySharona · 30/01/2020 09:56

It's 100% cotton, brushed flannel.

I've got Vanish Oxi Action at home - is that the best option or something else I can try?

@Greyhound22 haha I knew someone was going to say it! Oddly he pulls it off very well Grin

Isn't violets bleach? Terrified of ruining it beyond repair!

Wow that shirt is, erm, unique Grin

oohnicevase · 30/01/2020 10:49

Yes to vanish oxi..get a bucket and dilute it and soak , then re wash with more ...

Besidesthepoint · 30/01/2020 11:25

If the vanish doesn't work try soaking full fat milk. I don't know if it works with colour run but it gets ink out of our shirts.

Thanks everyone for your help! Will report back on if it works (fingers crossed!)
