Not saying hello to dog walker

My husband and I are both able to work from home a couple of times a week but we have a dog walker for consistency.

I mostly just shout hi to her or pretend I'm not in. Dh thinks I'm rude for not going up to dog walker and saying hello in person. Can't be arsed tbh. Especially if I haven't bothered to put my bra on!

Do you say hello every time?

I don't think it's categorically rude, just a bit unfriendly. You don't have to be friendly. It's up to you.

I do this. Pretend I'm not in. She won't know as I'm upstairs and don't have a car in the drive.

I know the dog walker has anxiety and depression and gave up her last job as she hated talking to people. She's said to me she hates coming in if she knows my dh is in the house (he has a car in the drive if wfh so she knows).

I'm trying to be considerate.

I think maybe you need to ask the dog walker what she thinks. Be honest, say sometimes I’m in my pjs, sorry I don’t say hi, don’t mean to be rude though. She’ll probably be happy, she just wants to do her job and not have to deal with small irrelevant talk. You’d be my ideal employer OP!

You don’t need a bra to be courteous.

I just shout 'hi, thank you' if I am upstairs, or if downstairs, just go to the door and say 'hi'. I don't chit chat, as I know she has other dogs in her van waiting, so she wouldn't want to be delayed gabbing to me!
