CF when giving stuff away for free!

AIBU to think people are even ruder when you're giving stuff away?

I have a large piece of antique furniture. No use for it anymore but it would be a shame to send it to the tip. Not worth anything really either.

I've had two people not bother turning up and two think it would go in the back of their car. The second seemed to think I was going to help her in a futile attempt to stuff it in her tiny car. Got quite arsey when I wouldn't.

These are the ones I let near my house- another sent me "why haven't you replied - can see you're online. Can I come now?"

Really?

Oh I've had some terrible Facebook experiences.

Giving some baby clothes away, a lot were never even worn, and the lady messaged me a day later saying there wasn't as much in the bags as she expected (they were rammed full) so could I just send her £20 to make up the petrol she spent to get to me. She lived 5 miles away, I know this because she begged me to deliver at first.

Another one threatened to call the police if I refused to sell her my pram she wanted in 3 months time, I already had someone coming to collect that day :-/

I’ve used British Heart Foundation several times and found them good.

Me:
CF: "please can I have this, I can collect right now"

They then vanish into oblivion and never reply to anything ever again. Until you post something else!

I once advertised a bin bag of ball pit balls for free, someone asked how many there were, I said well, I haven't counted, but theres a bin bag full. Well can you count them and get back to me.

I then had a lady come to collect some patio slabs. She tried to go forward down my drive and knocked her passenger wing mirror off, so she tried to reverse down, and scraped all her drivers side. Then she realised they were actually quite heavy and that she'd only be able to take about 6 at a time in her tiny car. Then got arsey because I didn't offer to help with car repair costs and she had scraped her car on MY drive
