Would you swap jobs for lower pay, but better hours?

Ive applied for another job but the pay is lower than what I get now. But the hours are better (start after school drop off, no weekends, no bank holidays)

Would other people swap a job for a lower pay but for nicer hours?

Probably yes. What I did was change by hours in my current job so I did school pick ups/drop offs and obviously that came with a decrease in salary. Wouldn’t have got my hours anywhere else so can’t directly compare.

Shoxfordian · 29/01/2020 07:49

No but then I don't have kids

lovelyupnorth · 29/01/2020 07:51

Yep. Swooped from teacher to hlta

Yabadee · 29/01/2020 07:55

Yip I did. Halved my hours and my salary, best thing I ever did.

We could afford for me to do that though

TimeForAParty · 29/01/2020 07:56

Yes, especially if I had young DC.

There was a similar thread last week. Majority view was yes.

RhymingRabbit3 · 29/01/2020 08:03

If I had school aged children or younger I definitely would.

Happydaysareheretostaywayhay · 29/01/2020 08:05

Yes definitely

nonamemummy · 29/01/2020 08:06

Thanks everyone

In my current job I have to work weekends, bank holidays and get someone to drop my 2 and 3 year old at nursery. But this new one I’ve applied for, it’s more what I’d rather be doing anyway and I wouldn’t have to work weekends, bank holidays and could start after I’ve dropped them off at nursery myself. It’s only a little bit lower pay than what I get now so I think I’d probably do it
