Men breastfeeding?

To find this a bit grim?

"The preliminary research suggested that men often drink before the child is fed, usually once a day, sometimes more frequently, and for about an hour at a time.

The men said they found it energising. “It sustains me, I come home for lunch and it relieves stress in the middle of the working day,” said Thomas*."

The men also said it was a way of initiating sex and showing affection. “But then it is happening to women who have just given birth,” he added.

"One man told the researchers: “When breastfeeding, I feel like I’m being looked after like a child, and this becomes addictive. I feel like a prince.”

Women did not seem to have much choice in the matter. “It appears to be a hugely coerced behaviour from the people we spoke to,” added Merritt."

Oh so it’s ok for women to be beaten, forced, babies left without because some might be happy to do it, although we don’t know for sure because they aren’t allowed to speak for themselves, but yeah let’s play pretend....
What an idiotic comment.

moita · 29/01/2020 12:36

Wow. Also wish I hadn't read this but living in ignorance does nothing.

Those poor women.

Igotthemheavyboobs · 29/01/2020 12:38

moita

Oh sorry, to he clear I was sorry I had read it whilst eating as it has made me feel a bit sick but glad the news is out there and agree awareness needs to be spread.

moita · 29/01/2020 13:43

I got- oh no I didn't mean that at all. I'm relieved I was eating while reading!! Awful isn't it. Sickening.

Excuse me we are talking about men BF not talking about beating women, or forcing babies. You obviously have your own agenda to sort out.

FrangipaniBlue · 29/01/2020 14:07

And you obviously haven't read the link because that's EXACTLY what is being discussed @june2007 Hmm

Baaaahhhhh · 29/01/2020 14:22

To those saying that it is no different from drinking cows milk...... honestly, when did you last see a human (of for that matter a bull) go to a cow and drink direct from its teats? No? Well there's your answer.

june2007 · 29/01/2020 17:43

ok in this context your right.

Supertrooper98 · 29/01/2020 18:28

It's disgusting

MedusasButterDish · 29/01/2020 19:43

Oh, bugger off, @HelpingHim . Not everything is about men, or sex. The important thing in the postnatal/ newborn period is the survival of two vulnerable human beings.
