OH had a cap on upper 2nd molar. After a week has extreme sensitivity in 3rd molar. Back to nhs dentist yesterday but xray showed nothing. Dentist said wait a week and that he might need root canal treatment for 3rd molar for which he would need to see a specialist dentist. The pain is bad and reacts to even slightly warm food or liquid. He also says he still has a slight numbness in his face as though dental anaesthetic hasnt quite worn off. Surely it is not just a coincidence that this started with the capping. No pain at all before ( bit of tooth broke off hence cap). Any advice greatly appreciated.
