Please can you tell me about perineal repair surgery?

Had an unstitched 2nd degree tear with DC six years ago.
After a lot of pushing I’m eventually booked in for surgery next week to fix my near non existent perineum. Can anyone tell me about recovery?

I’m shitting it. Not literally, although my bowels have been dodgy due to muscle damage!

Following with interest as I seem to have developed (tmi, apologies!) a skin tag in the same region! Need to get it checked out, but dreading it. Hope it goes well OP.

I don’t know about perineal surgery as such but after my third birth the midwife who stitched me up repaired some appalling stitching done after my first baby which was a ventouse delivery. I had skin tags in very uncomfortable places and it was just not right. She was horrified and said it should have been rectified years before but my male GP never deemed it important enough. It made a huge difference to the appearance (I know, who looks at it but it did bother me) and sex was much improved. Before it was a gaping gap (sorry tmi) and now it’s neat and everything is where it should be.

Took a few weeks to heal properly but so worthwhile.
