A few weeks ago I posted that I had dislocated my hip. Had it seen too, I then a week after fell down the flight of stairs in my house and gave myself concussion, bruising ect and messed up my hip more. It had seemed to be getting better and I was off the crutches but today when I got up my hip was more painful than usual. I thought it was just because it was a bit cold but it's been getting more and more painful and now the pain is radiating to my groin, I can barely walk and can only stand hunched over. I have recently moved so am still waiting for my files to be transferred to the new gp. I don't know what to do and am panicked, have already been to A&E three times in the last two weeks. aibu?

Did you go to A&E after the fall down the stairs?

MapMyMum · 27/01/2020 19:04

Id go to A&E again with this

EmeraldShamrock · 27/01/2020 19:04

Jez OP how awful.
I hope you feel better soon, did the hospital prescribe 9p

MGC31 · 27/01/2020 19:05

If your pain is consistently above 7/10 I would say call 999 and ask for an ambulance.

NewloveCG · 27/01/2020 19:07

I went to A&E after I fell down the stairs as I got knocked unconscious and had several bruises on my face. I was prescribed tramadol, I couldn't get up the stairs to get it so had to wait for my mum to pop in and get it for me. It hasn't helped though

Sorry posted to soon. Did they prescribe strong medication. Have you returned since you fell on the stairs.
I imagine you'd be still in lots of pain. Flowers

MGC31 · 27/01/2020 19:11

Did they X-ray your hip after the fall?

NewloveCG · 27/01/2020 19:19

They didn't x-ray the hip as I was able to bear weight (with crutches), and it seemed in place. Have taken tramadol and have tried heat but it's just so painful.

I think you need an X Ray Flowers

MapMyMum · 27/01/2020 19:24

Has the pain increased since the last visit or is it the same? And how long ago were you last seen?

WrongKindOfFace · 27/01/2020 19:26

Why don’t you ring 111 and ask their advice?

NewloveCG · 27/01/2020 19:30

The pain had definitely increased and has moved across, I went to A&E last Wednesday.

If you can’t weight bear and the pain is not managed with tramadol you need to go back to A&E.

yes, I think you need to go to A&E.
its a bit difficult to understand your story, but prob because you are in pain. why was the tramadol upstairs if you were downstairs. tramadol is v strong, if you are still feeling pain through that, then you really ought to seek further medical help.
at least ring 111.
good luck.

NewloveCG · 27/01/2020 19:56

Sorry made sense in my head, I keep my tramadol in my room. I went downstairs to do some work earlier in the day before the pain got worse, I then couldn't get back upstairs because the pain was so bad.
