Just been on London news that Sadiq Khan (Mayor of London) is there and allocated money to an education programme that explains what happened to the Jews and others in the death and work camps.

Yes I saw Sadiq Khan being interviewed on the BBC news channel, he was there,

NameChangeNugget · 27/01/2020 18:25

He’s a good man is Sadiq.

Wish he was an MP

TeacupDrama · 27/01/2020 18:28

lots of UK politicians were at service at Westminister abbey

HeIenaDove · 27/01/2020 18:28

Disabled people were murdered too The coverage of this is nonexistent.

Probably because they were at the major commemorations, just like eg Macron was at the commemoration in Paris.

It looks as if the one at Auschwitz (which was hosted by the Polish government) was for the remaining survivors, and officials from Poland and Israel.

There are some events it may be better not to gate-crash

ArnoldBee · 27/01/2020 18:35

Apparently our Halocaust Minister Lord Pickles was there.

Ok, thanks. Wasn't watching but half listened to BBC News at 6pm and was surprised when they said it.
