Cleaners - what do you really think?

Looking for honesty here so name change if necessary.

Cleaners - what do you really think of people that ask for a deep clean? I’m thinking of getting one . I’m not moving house , I’m not pregnant or with a broken arm. I just feel like the whole house needs a really good top to bottom clean . I’ve never had a cleaner, but I’m guessing it would be someone local who might talk about me for being incredibly lazy / dirty.

If I book this, id make sure there was cake / biscuits supplies for cleaning team. I’d make sure toilets were clean and that nothing was utterly filthy .

What are your honest thoughts about me ?

Your busy

Simonfromharlow · 25/01/2020 22:25

I wouldn't think anything. It's just another job.

Thelnebriati · 25/01/2020 22:25

I would think 'oh good' because that used to be my preferred contract. Its so much easier working a few hours in one place rather than travelling between several jobs.

I used to be a cleaner and you wouldn't believe what I've seen. I've deep cleaned several houses that were literally covered floor to ceiling in feces, nicotine, animal hair and chip fat. I've cleaned up after hoarders.
I've cleaned student accommodation.

No opinion whatsoever

I'm not a cleaner, but OP, you're fine. The reason I can tell, is you are giving the situation some thought, and showing some consideration. Those who live like filthy pigs don't really know it, and wouldn't give a damn!

pinkcarnations · 25/01/2020 22:30

I wouldn't think anything either, just another job to me too. You don't have to justify your reasons to anyone, any reputable cleaner will not be gossiping about you, we are just keen to get the job done. I get great job satisfaction from leaving a client's house fresh and clean and feeling like I've helped them in some small way.

MyNewBearTotoro · 25/01/2020 22:31

I’d feel jealous I can’t really afford to do the same! Definitely wouldn’t think badly of you - cleaning’s boring, good cleaning products are expensive and once you’ve deep cleaned you’ll have 3/4 bottles of products you don’t use for everyday cleaning just sitting under the sink, it’s hard to get round to doing a proper deep clean in amongst real life and a professional cleaner will do a much better job than you will. If you can afford it absolutely go for it.

Mirandaqueenbee · 25/01/2020 22:33

I'd think I like her style and wish I hired someone to do my cleaning for me even though I'm a cleaner 😂

Taraohara · 25/01/2020 22:33

Actually @MyNewBearTotoro I don’t know how much I’m looking at 😂
4 bed detached house . In thinking around £150 !? Would thar be ok for 2 people, about 5/6 hours ?

I'm a cleaner and I wish I could have someone to come in and give my house a deep clean.

akmum18 · 25/01/2020 22:49

I’m a cleaner and I wouldn’t judge, people are busy and deep cleaning is time consuming and difficult so it makes sense to pay someone if you can afford it. It’s the houses I go to weekly where you can see they have made no effort to keep on top of it, their toilets are rotten again and they purposely and without shame leave extra things for me to do that make me raise an eyebrow. My company charge £15 an hour per cleaner for deep cleans but look around depending where you live you can often find decent companies with offers.

inwood · 25/01/2020 22:58

I don't have one. You need it, you pay for it. Simple transaction.

Biber · 25/01/2020 23:37

I've done cleaning. I wouldn't judge, or gossip. In fact, I'd go round with you whilst you pointed out what bothered you, work out what to do, sympathise, and then reassure you my standards are higher for clients, and that my home is far from looking like the cleaners have just been in.

Don't worry, it's rewarding to make a big difference for an appreciative client. Particularly one who hasn't left skid marks in all the toilets and left refreshments out.

Go for it, treat yourself.

Thanks all 😊
