I probably am BU not to know the answer to this but I've just seen it advertised on Facebook and am baffled.

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailyrecord.co.uk/special-features/part-murder-trial-decide-verdict-20765593.amp

It seems to be a meal then you act out a court room drama and decide the fate of the accused? I've googled about and the organisers are saying it's interesting that it may produce a different result to the REAL TRIAL that starts this month? So did the two little boys actually go missing? If so how can this be a thing? Surely it's in very poor taste and I feel for the families if it is a genuine murder case. I've googled and can't find any information so excuse my ignorance if it is real.

I hope this doesn't upset anyone/ cause offence I'm just genuinely baffled!

It's not a real crime

stewiesmumlois · 25/01/2020 18:22

Is it not? Oh I feel a bit of an idiot now then 🤦🏻‍♀️

The bit about the organiser saying how the real trial is starting in January and is expected to go on for four months made me think maybe it was.

Having re read it I think I misread a bit of it 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Feel a right tit now but also glad it's not real. I was wondering what lows society had sunk to now 🤦🏻‍♀️

It was on Dragon's Den, I wasn't very impressed then and was very surprised that they got a Dragon.

However I think the figures were quite good so I am probably alone in my feelings.

DoSomethingBob · 25/01/2020 18:32

At the end it says:-
‘The experience has been written with a team of leading criminal barristers and a great deal of research and consideration has gone into the build of this concept to ensure its realism. The concept has also had criminal barristers feed into the case to ensure its authenticity.‘
Definitely not real.

stewiesmumlois · 25/01/2020 18:33

Yes I'm an idiot 🤦🏻‍♀️ I blame lack of sleep! I'm usually quite switched on, honest!

It says the event starts in January. The trial bit, case and length are made up.

I think it's absolutely fascinating and I hope they will reveal results later. I've been thinking about joining in since October 😂

EmeraldShamrock · 25/01/2020 18:36

@stewiesmumlois You're not an idiot. At least you asked others make assumptions. It would be very inappropriate if it was real.

stewiesmumlois · 25/01/2020 18:39

I was pretty disgusted at the thought it might be real but in this day and age nothing would surprise me!

Is it not just a kind of murder mystery dinner type thing ?

cabbageking · 25/01/2020 19:01

An updated murder mystery event for fun.

Cheesey21 · 25/01/2020 19:20

I've been to one of these last year and I'm pretty sure it was 'based on a real crime' but a few details changed. It's actually a brilliant evening if you're into that kind of thing. I loved it!
