Dd is 7, and we want to go away this summer - somewhere warm, with a pool, and a gym (for me!) and self catering.

We don’t want to share a room with dd, or go camping (dp is disabled and campsites are usually not accessible), and we don’t have anyone else we can go with.

What do other one child families do? AIBU t ask for your brilliant holiday recommendations?

I was going to say look at holiday village type places. They do do SC accommodation.

There’s be the holiday kids club for your DD and they are accessible too.

The two we’ve stayed at had good gym facilities too.

Thanks @singlebutmarried - which companies did you go with?

What about some the aparthotels on the Spanish islands? You could easily get a 2bed apartment in a hotel (or one bed and a sofa bed for DD) and use all the normal hotel facilities. We've done that self catered before.

Alternatively, what about a French gitê?

Center Parcs! They have accessible lodges and you can buy a gym pass, free access to the pool and self catering lodges. Loads for the kids to do as well.

Oh sorry I missed the somewhere warm bit! They have parcs abroad though...

Jutlandia Majorca with Jet2holidays and there is a kids club!

Barmaid101 · 25/01/2020 16:45

We did self catering last year there and going back this year

Disney Florida. Fully accessible. They do suites. Ideal with 1 child.

Eurocamp, the ones like CentreParcs. Duinrell in The Netherlands is fantastic.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 25/01/2020 17:00

Second for Eurocamp!

Bluddyhateful · 26/01/2020 08:22

Thanks everyone! But wow - eurocamp is expensive!
