WideWebWitch · 01/09/2007 13:21

So I think if you're pregnant AND A WELL KNOWN POSTER I MIGHT HAVE HEARD OF then start a thread, g'wan

lilibet · 01/09/2007 13:23

ok expat, I was one of the am I/aren't I people.

When I had my dd, you had to wait for two missed periods before the doctor would let you have a test (yes, I an that old)

The number of people who never went for a test because they had a 'late period' was amazing. Now you go on threads and people are miscarrying at 5 weeks and it is truly heartbreaking for them because that was a baby.

In my day (oh God, did I really just say that!!) that hearbreak would not have been there to the same extent, this time I was nearly three weeks late, I had a few days of worry, and a few days of coming to terms, and decided to give it a week or so before I took a test.

I decided to come on here and talk to people about my worries, I got 'shouted' at to go and take a test, you questioned my 'lack of money' which I cited as a worry.

Today I started my period. It is much better for me and my dh looking at this as a late period, rather than a 'lost baby'.

I'm glad I didn't take the advice given and stand by that and other peoples choices to come on here and post about their worries and concerns and to take a test when they want to.

If I can't talk about my worries on here, where can I go?

Isn't it a strange juxtaposition...for those who can get pregnant easily a late period can be the worst thing ever and for those who can't, it can be the best.

Funny thing this life lark

Emprexia · 01/09/2007 16:04

I was an am I/Aren't I person, but with valid reason.

Previously i'd gone 21 days past my period due date and not been pregnant, so the next time i was that late, i waited and waited to test incase the same thing had happened.

It didn't G and i was already 5weeks pregnant when i finally POAS.

My little man is 1 on wednesday.. where did the time go!

LadyTophamHatt · 01/09/2007 16:04

www, sw thread?

Sw?

suzywong??

is the wong PG?

hatwoman · 01/09/2007 16:10

YABU. having a bit of fun on here and doing a test aren;t mutually exclusive. tons of the questions on here could be better answered by googling, or getting off your arse and doing something. but if we all did that they;d be no mn. not much of one anyway. and then where would we be?

expatinscotland · 01/09/2007 16:16

Once again, I am NOT a very fertile person or a person who falls pregnant easily!

And I'm talking about people who haven't done a test or aren't even late!

If you think you might be pregnant and you're late, wouldn't a test put your mind at ease?

The Wong thought she was up duff but turned out she wasn't

lilibet · 01/09/2007 17:05

Do you see my reasoning expat?

happytobemam · 03/09/2007 10:26

Personally I think YABU!
I was also one of these people who posted recently about not wanting to do a pregnancy test. Fortunately, I don't have a problem getting pregnant, just a problem getting them to the right place and keeping them!
I lost 2 pregnancies which were ectopic, one of which nearly cost me my life. I then went on to have 2 miscarriages (all within about a 2 year time scale). Fortunately I went on to have a baby girl who is now 1. Recently, I thought I might be pregnant but was also bleeding a small amount. I didn't want to do a pregnancy test as once I know I'm pregnant, then the reality that I might lose a fifth pregnancy and possibly my remaining tube and possibility to have another child with it becomes a real possibility.
I came on here to look for support as realistically I knew I needed to test and I'm very grateful that the responses that I received were not like your attitude and that everyone who replied were really helpful, supportive and friendly.
Maybe you should think about why people post and come looking for support!
