And will it really end years of argument and division?

I’m quoting Johnson - obviously.

No, we have a year of nothing changes before the inevitable hard brexit or us getting our arses handed to us in a shit deal. 5 years down the line when we STILL have a moribund economy then anyone who believed in brexit will still refuse to acknowledge how shit its been for the country.

I really hope for no chaos and food shortages this time next year.

Figmentofmyimagination · 24/01/2020 19:30

It’s strange how quiet everyone is about it, especially given that it is fantastic.

Yes, it's fucking fantastic. It's been far too long a wait but if you're a remainer it's time to go and sob into your pillow.

pigsDOfly · 24/01/2020 19:39

Probably it'll end years of a particular type of argument and division, only to bring about a whole new set of arguments and divisions.

And of course they'll be someone else the government and the leave voters will find to blame for that.

pigsDOfly · 24/01/2020 19:40

*there'll be, not they'll be.

Ponoka7 · 24/01/2020 19:43

SilverySurfer, why would we sob into our pillow, if it's going to be great?

Surely you should be telling us to just wait, because things are going to get better?

LaPampa · 24/01/2020 19:44

I’d be more willing to believe it will be fantastic If anyone could set out in a tangible way how they suppose it is going to be fantastic.

pigsDOfly · 24/01/2020 21:49

Absolutely what Ponoka7 said.

I'm about as ardent a remainer as you can get, but if leaving makes everything 'fantastic' then I'll be the first to eat my words.

Unfortunately, I'm still yet to find out what all this 'fantastic' is going to look like as no one seems to be able to explain it. I suspect though, that it's going to prove to be pretty mediocre stuff.
