To think you can't catch a virus / cold from someone in a few hours?

Someone I know thinks they can feel themselves getting a sore throat within minutes of being in contact with someone who has a cold. Surely this isn't possible?

I wouldn't think so, no. Incubation period would usually be 1 or 2 days.
I think this person is probably a hypochondriac.
