Ds, 16 early next month, came with me to take the rubbish from the rabbits to the dump. He refused to get out of the car and help because there is a sign saying children under 16 have to stay in the car but the staff there aren't bothered, pointing out before it mainly applies to younger children rather than 6 foot 3 teenagers. We are now home and he wants to go on Call of Duty that MIL gave him for an early birthday present, we didn't know she was buying it for him and he didn't ask for it as we say no to overage games. I refused (mainly to prove a point) because if he's not able to help at the dump due to not being 16 then he certainly can't play an 18.
I think he's scored a bit of an own goal there
