To ask where I can find people and chat to people who have had wls?

Im looking into weight loss surgery and have a lot of questions the internet is not able to answer for me. I was wondering if any one has had wls or knows where there may be a forum or site I can chat to people on. Thankyou!

I've had similar surgery but for medical reasons and am on partial and total gastrectomy sites on facebook. Quite a lot on there had WLS initially but had complications, hence the need for further operations.

Hi @Walnutwhipster! I'm due to have a total gastrectomy later this year - currently receiving TPN via PIC Line at home thanks to massive stomach and duodenal ulceration and a 'redundant' stomach. I hadn't thought to look for support groups on FB, thanks for the idea, I'll have a look and may see you over there (although I suspect your real name isn't Walnut, so we may not recognise one another!)

@Pushpushpoosh - I haven't had WLS either, but I'm fed intravenously which can be necessary if someone has complications after WLS, so if you have any Q's about that, feel free to ask!

@BetsyBigNose I initially had a Partial (due to ulceration) but had complications. I had my TG last March without incident. It's a big op but I had no choice. I had a J tube for feeding both before and after the TG. It fell out, coincidentally, the day my mum died, so I waited before attending hospital and it would have needed surgically replacing. Since then I've been allowed to try to maintain my own weight, although the threat of the tube is always there. I'm down to 50kg but am better than I have been for a long time, although I'm really tired all the time. If you want to PM me I can give you a couple of great support groups, including one that has a doctor who has had a TG.
