Literally days away drom due date and DD 2.5yrs has started throwing up
Panicking that the house now needs disinfecting, that she could pass germs onto newborn sibling and obviously how the fuck am I meant to give birth if I've also got a bug?!
Help please! Has anyone else been in this situation?! what do I do?!

My ds had a bug the day we came home from hospital with new baby. I packed myself and new baby off to my parents for a week. It was awful but necessary. Other than that Milton is your friend.

Ds got chicken pox when I was 38+ weeks pregnant which isn't as bad as at least I couldn't get it again.

Can anyone help you? I'd suggest washing hand regularly particularly before eating and drinking. Wash bedding/towels on hot and don't share towel.

Maybe give you midwife a call to see if there is any other suggestions they have.

I had the sick bug while in labour lasted even after baby was born. He was fine never caught it. Just made sure everything was cleaned

I think if you can possibly bf this will help - especially if you get the bug - because you will pass on your own immunity / antibodies to the baby.

I’d speak to your midwife about this to help make a plan/ put your mind at ease.

The baby might not come on your due date either so it could be over by then.

I had a sickness bug at 38 weeks. At first I got all excited, as my previous labour had started with me vomitting, so I thought the baby was coming. It soon became apparent that that was not the case. New baby never caught it (funnily enough, that never crossed my mind!). Actually, I got flu shortly after giving birth, and my son never caught that either, so maybe there is something to this antibodies thing!

It'll be fine don't worry! The house doesn't need disinfecting, just carry as normal. Your baby might even be late and toddler all well again who knows! My DH had a HIDEOUS sickness right over the birth of my second and my baby never caught it.

Calm down. Maintain good hygiene.

Maybe go and stay in a hotel and let your partner deal with it, to minimise the chance of passing it on to you?

Oh what a nightmare.

Someone I know caught a bug from her toddler and it sent her into labour. That can be quite common I think. Just to forewarn you 😩

My DS1 got the sickness bug when DS2 was a couple of weeks old. My midwife just said bf constantly and make sure everyone washes their hands. He was fine.
