Yes all men are in fact mentally about 12. Pathetic, isn't it?

I had to train DH when we were first going out that it was not "rag week" or any of the other naff phrases that blokes use. Also, that the contents of my bra are not "tits"!

Of course you're being unreasonable.

you should have known better
they have a collective mental age of 14 when they get together

What do you expect him to say - "my spouse is currently enduring her menstrual cycle"? Surely there are things of his that you refer to in a jokey way...

(Hadn't heard "rag week" before. Will use it now )

DH called it "dancing the cotton wool pole dance"

MrsTittleMouse · 31/08/2007 13:59

Maybe I should get him to use "enduring her menstrual cycle", what a great idea!
Rather boringly, it's my period.

I always say I am expecting my friend.... it is a bit nauseating and quaint isn't it?

breasts?

Report

Caroline1852 · 31/08/2007 14:34

nailpolish - I could not even bring myself to type that one...... ugh ...... it is a word that a headmaster might use, undcomfortably, in hushed tones.

Report

nailpolish · 31/08/2007 14:35

i agree

my MUM has breasts

not me

Have just had to dance around the room in a Pans People fashion to rid myself of the vibe from that word.

norks....?

Report

MrsTittleMouse · 31/08/2007 15:12

Breasts for medical examinations.
Norks for breastfeeding.
Tits for extreme raunchy occasions.
??? for everyday.
Boobs I suppose, but it's not ideal I admit. "Tits" under normal (DH not turned on) occasions makes me feel like a Page 3 girl, and not in a good way.

Report

UnquietDad · 31/08/2007 15:40

In Yorks they sometimes say
"Barnsley are playing at home."
That was in a list of Yorkshire-isms circulated to foreign medical students.
