Because of the Herbal Essences conditioner bottle??
I know this is very low down on the list of things to worry about but it resulted in me having a very sleep deprived, hormonal melt down in the shower this morning!

Why is it almost impossible to squeeze the conditioner out of a Herbal Essences bottle??? 🤷🏼‍♀️
The bottle is too wide to get ur hand around and a one handed squeeze just doesn’t work. I don’t think I have particularly small hands and I have a pretty good squeezing technique in most other squeezing situations...but this is beyond impossible!

Anyone else share my pain? 😩

I think most conditioner bottles are like that! Drives me mad, especially towards the end of a bottle. I usually add water and shake well when it gets to the end, far easier to get it out then and lasts longer!

Stillwatchingfriends · 21/01/2020 10:10

I’ve just thrown a herbal essence conditioner still half full into the bin for this exact reason!! The design is seriously FLAWED!

endofthelinefinally · 21/01/2020 10:10

Either dilute it or decant it into a travel squeezy bottle. I don't know why manufacturers don't consider these things.

GoodnightJude1 · 21/01/2020 10:12

@Stillwatchingfriends

I’m SO glad it’s not just me!! It really is a ridiculous design!
I’m going to stick it in the kids bathroom and let my DC deal with it! I’m going back to Aussie!

I’ve switched to Pantene simply because I like their bottle design. It has a fat/wide bottom (an extension of the bottle) which u can store top down so it’s always ready to squeeze out. It’s also better than herbal essences IMO - my hair looks dead shiny!

GoodnightJude1 · 21/01/2020 10:21

I haven’t used Pantene for years... I tend to stick to Aussie as it really suits my hair. I only ended up with the evil Herbal Essences because my OH was sent to get some when I had flu! Never again!!!

I find this with the big tresemme bottles of conditioner! I get a pair of scissors and cut round the middle til the top and bottom are in 2 halves and scoop out the condioner from the bottom half - No waste! Grin

BlueJava · 21/01/2020 10:35

Can't you dilute it to make it flow better? I use Simple - comes out and no smell!

Disfordarkchocolate · 21/01/2020 10:35

I always stand conditioner bottles upside down.

GetOffTheTableMabel · 21/01/2020 10:36

Done switch to Hask or you’ll find yourself in the same situation.
Really annoying.

81Byerley · 21/01/2020 10:39

When I was a teenager, a manufacturer changed the plastic on a squeezy bottle to something thicker, and I found it impossible to squeeze, so I wrote them a poem, jokingly complaining. I addressed it to their "Bouquets and Brickbats" department. Within a week, I received a poem in reply, with a voucher!

Sorry, wrong thread - I'll ask for it to be deleted.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 21/01/2020 10:49

Stillwatching at least rinse it out and recycle.

Fanniesyeraunt · 21/01/2020 10:49

Another great bottle design is at TK Maxx they do these huuuge bottles of shampoo/conditioner (The brands differ but are usually Argan oil and TIGI and stuff like that) with pump-action tops - they are the ones hairdressing salons use and they’re great too. They’re about £10-14 a bottle though so you have to be feeling rich! Although I bet they work out cheaper in the long run.

NormaLouiseBates · 21/01/2020 10:53

I've lost count of the amount of different brands of conditioners that I've refused to repurchase (even though I really liked the product) because of this. Serious flaw in the design! Maui are one of the worst which is a shame as it smells gorgeous and leave my hair really soft. It's not worth the risk of RSI to try and get it out of the bastard bottle though.

Whatisthisfuckery · 21/01/2020 10:56

I like the Costco Kirkland stuff, although that’s no use to anyone who doesn’t have a membership.

goodgodingovan · 21/01/2020 10:57

I bought glass bottles with pumps and buy eco friendly refills. Never have this problem anymore Smile

Nomorechips · 21/01/2020 10:58

I leave mine upside down.

GoodnightJude1 · 21/01/2020 11:24

I do leave the bottle upside down!! It’s just designed in a way that makes it almost impossible to squeeze.

Sorry, I have no helpful advice to add, but Grin Grin Grin

inwood · 21/01/2020 11:46

I spent ££££ on Maui shampoo and conditioner because it looked so nice. Think £9 a bottle.

Could get one squeeze out of the condition bottle and that was it.

I complained and they said my hands were too small. Im 5ft8, I can cope with most things. Shocking customer service.

Highonpotandused · 21/01/2020 11:50

My conditioner comes in a tub. I have perfected the perfect dollop scooping technique but I can’t help you with your squeezing technique.

Highonpotandused · 21/01/2020 11:51

@inwood that’s crazy, my 70 yo arthritic mum has been happily using her Maui shampoo and conditioner. You must have puny wrists. Wink

SameOldHorrorStory · 21/01/2020 12:29

LMAO @SaskiaRembrandt

I genuinely read that and thought it was going to end SaskiaRembrandt
