AIBU to think that if Keith ever visited the Sistine Chapel that he’d probably cry and scream at its beauty?

If you’ve not seen the Great Pottery Throw Down, one of the judges, Keith is brought to tears by bits of pottery every week.

YANBU Grin OMG he gets so emosh!

I love it though.

BendingSpoons · 20/01/2020 12:55

Haha I'm not sure it would be advisable for his health for him to visit!

lidoshuffle · 20/01/2020 13:00

It's normally the contestants on Bake Off etc who go all soppy and tearful, here it is the judge!

Loved some of the chess sets.

ConstanceSalinger · 20/01/2020 13:01

Having actually cried myself when after about 393747 hours of work my piece comes out bubbled or cracked then he is NBU

nitgel · 20/01/2020 13:02

YanbuGrin

lidoshuffle · 20/01/2020 13:04

At least Keith softly weeps, he doesn't do a full Screaming Sistine! Grin

YouthGoneMild · 20/01/2020 13:06

I think Keith is really lovely and I love his reactions. He doesn’t look like he’d be a guy who’d cry over an egg cup, which makes it even cuter.

I love this show!

Him crying keeps setting me off. I love him.

But I didn't scream at the Sistine Chapel.

SarahAndQuack · 20/01/2020 13:24

Grin I reckon it'd have to be something more specific to pottery. A Ming vase that turned out to be made by a poor Ming Dynasty peasant who had no sort of start in life and hadn't even got GCSEs.

I do like Keith, though, and I respect him making it quite clear he's got a bit of a leftie agenda at times.

Katinski · 20/01/2020 13:26

@YouthGoneMild Grin
Love Big Keith, love Great Pottery Throwdown, both unmissableStar

SarahAndQuack · 20/01/2020 13:27

YouthGoneMild, did you NC for this thread?! Your name just so perfectly sums up what that show is all about (I know they're not all young, but ...).

YouthGoneMild · 20/01/2020 13:30

@SarahandQuack No name change, I’m long past my wild youth Grin

I’d forgotten how much I loved this programme. Just lovely talented people appreciating craft. Totally adorable.

SarahAndQuack · 20/01/2020 13:33

It's a great name.

IDontDrinkTea · 20/01/2020 13:34

Maybe he’s the woman screaming at it in the Mumsnet classics thread 😂

Hustssleeping · 20/01/2020 13:35

Has it started again? I've missed it!

IDontDrinkTea · 20/01/2020 13:36

(In case anyone fancies a laugh, the thread I was talking about in my previous post is this one.... www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3178898-DH-embarrassed-by-my-sensitivity )

firstimemamma · 20/01/2020 13:38

I've never seen the programme so no clue who you're talking about but thanks for reminding me of one of my favourite ever threads! Grin

gaggiagirl · 20/01/2020 13:38

Yes it's on more 4 Wednesdays at 9.and repeated on ch4 6pm Sunday. It's my absolute favourite it makes me so happy

YouthGoneMild · 20/01/2020 13:52

@Hustssleeping They’re only 2 episodes in, so will be easy to catch up.

I loved Flea’s chess set, so beautiful!

Stickybeaksid · 20/01/2020 13:53

I cry every time Keith starts crying. My husband thinks I’m mad crying over a pottery show but Keith sets me off . I probably shouldn’t visit the Sistine chapel

Hustssleeping · 20/01/2020 14:45

Amazing! I was looking on bbc. Forgot it was channel 4!
Yes Keith must be difficult to take for a cuppa...

YouthGoneMild · 20/01/2020 19:52

Yes, Channel 4 and it is also on 4OD.

I think I prefer it it GBBO but don’t tell Noel Grin

Didn't he cry over a toilet once? 🤣 Bless him. Least he's passionate.
